Heliopolis is my self-defined thesis project. In it I explore the idea of representing personality through landscape. It was strongly influenced by William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell. The final outcome was a series of short stories that moved from abstraction towards realism. The narratives were combined with stylized typographic illustrations.

The Illustration process combined draughtsmanship, collage and digital manipulation. I created detailed storyboards and carefully broke down the narrative, then created cut paper collages of the layouts. These were scanned and combined with custom typefaces to create the final layouts.

As part of my thesis I documented the project, I gathered my influences and processes into a large (and well designed) book.
